Every morning
you wire up
with your phone
and your music
and your email
and your coffee.

And head out
into the world
where whatever happens
does so
with all this other stuff
in the background.

Cigarettes
and more coffee
flipping through the playlists
wondering
what music fits best
with walking
from here to there.

These are nice tools
for keeping
hearts
sedated.

the cold truth indeed, why are we so afraid to feel, I don't know, it screws with our sensibilities? people just want to keep moving to their schedules and not be distracted by trivialities of human interaction..
