Someone asked me
just this morning
what was the strangest thing
I believed to be true.
Well, I said,
there's lots I believe
that people find strange,
and lots that's strange
that people believe.
Which goes just as well
not just for beliefs
but also truths
and knowing.
Because, after all,
even pinning this stuff down -
reducing thoughts to words -
is itself, well,
strange.
So there you have it,
my weird friend:
my strange belief
is the notion that beliefs can be shared
with words.
