This is the prayer
for all beings
finding peace
in a world
of truth and light.

This is the prayer
for the trees and grasses
rustling in the wind
and still
in the dawn.

This is the prayer
for all beggars and thieves,
to find a path
of scented flowers
and dreams like clouds.

This is the prayer,
for the blind and deaf,
whose hearts might finally open
in these fleeting days.

And this is a prayer
for the one in gassho
to realize
the heart within

filled as it is
with trees and grasses,
beggars and thieves,
the blind and deaf.

May all we are,
and all we become,
sit quietly in peace
under a full and silver moon.
