there isn't a recipe
for living life
with an open heart

you just have to do it
without thinking
or planning
or measuring and mixing

no bibles or sacred texts or cookbooks exist
for what to do
here and now

and though you may not want to hear,
truth isn't magical sweet buttery goodness, either

not always
ands maybe not ever

so if what you seek
is a snug cocoon
of warm covers and milk,
then this isn't for you

which is fine
and no one ought be blamed
for turning elsewhere
from the rocky mapless path
you can't help
but walk
