What I wanted to say
was that these moments of clarity
where you find yourself realizing
truths obvious
do not ever end,

don't come pre-supplied
with detailed plans
fully assembled.

And no matter how vociferous
or sanctimonious
the claims made
books written
stories told,

there ain't no
ready made recipe
for truth and happiness
laying out there
in some program.

But such a speech,
well it would have come
from anger,

and I pretty much
finally learned
spewing out
the fire my head cooks up
isn't particularly helpful
to anyone but me

and probably not even that.

So I sat back
and played solitaire,
listening
and letting go;

when my turn came
and I passed,

nothing was any worse
than when I got there,
an hour earlier.

Not any better either.
