Such a casual game,
this daily life…
Make a move and slam down the timer.

Wait! Can I take that back?

Straight forward in my path,
never looking to the side.
I tried the bishop’s angle once
but it didn’t suit my stride.

I’ve never been one for horses,
riding a path of their own;
too paltry to storm your castle
seems I’ll never sit your throne.

I've spent my effort
to show you your worth,
yet still, you toy with the notion.

Guess I'm nothing more than a pawn
chasing a queen with no boundaries
as I separate myself from home.

Then it hits me…

In reality, nothing can ever be
black and white.

I quit.

Your move.

still not happy with it... *insert big sigh here* Perhaps more will develop later.

I liked the first version though this one is admittedly much better, nicely done Sketso. You worked words across the chessboard in a way that could out-dance even the queen.

Don't you just hate that...when it doesn't feel "right" but you can't figure out why. I like this as is.
