                          .....................I lie to you......................
                                         it lies deep within,
where self preservation-tends to the weak, and courage has no captain.
I live of a cowards wage and get paid accordingly.
Numerous conversations had within, but never once an airborne word.
I bite my lip - through fear that I may just say how i feel.
Sometimes I watch you - in the way that others watch comets,
appreciated from a far, as in reality...you are.
It's a personal thing, a mourning I yearn,
its when I feel you the most, it's the closest i come to an actual truth.
A pocket full of silver, throwing coins at the sky.........
wishing you well,
                           wishing you here,
                                                       that of my mind,
                                                                                a wishing hell.

again and again i come back; mustve done some pavlovian mindtrickery on me. . .. the depth of this is unfathomable; undeniable; unquenchable and again and again, i keep clicking on this....to find a morsel of myself nourished and sated; something in this separates you from other poets. the REALness. there are no visual feats [sometimes i look at your writes and think it just spilled forth, you couldnt contain the emotion/words any longer; full to the brim.filled eyes, you must be]. .. thatr ealness is so immediate. so demanding of a listening......again and again. more please sire.

..."it lies deep within, where self preservation-tends to the weak, and courage has no captain." This spoke to me, from the first words to the last. Exquisite pain vocalized within the most intense of those few lines. The imagery left me yearning for the words left unsaid, the words still hidden in your heart...left me wanting more of this truth I so identify with. You've stolen my voice from me, in a way, because I have been there, I just couldn't justify it with words. An excellent pen, to say the very least. I wish I had the room to favor it.

i came back to this for the first two [complete] lines; and the way they mirror myriads of things. .. . .and the gobbled up visuals. . .. and the dusty way of this language; how it coats throats and eyes and makes me wish for beauty . ...[click on you]

A wishing hell. That line in itself visualizes the entire poem for me. So many wishes, wants, desires aching to come true, but never quite taking shape; just in sight but never there; fingers can touch it, but its not near enough to grab; a wishing hell. Wow.

Thanks sketso, writing something like this is a therapy session in itself, not wishing this upon others but knowing others can relate some how, brings a solace with it..I'm glad you got something out off this, twas my intention....thanks mate.

I relate to this whole work, as it's where I am right now, but one phrase... kills me. "A pocket full of silver, throwing coins at the sky........." - and wishing some would fly elsewhere, rather than landing back out our own feet, unaccepted. This image stuck in my mind, and I've returned to read it a hundred times over. Nicely spoken/written, friend. The insight in this work... wow.

Thanks Narcissa, but I think we both know I have a ways to go before I can hold my own in comparison to the quality of your work, but thanks for the boost.

This reminds me of a piece I wrote once...your words are far more elegant than mine though...
