Every single word
You said - fell
Like a water drop
On the painting
I had created
Of our relationship
Washing the color away
Drop by drop.

I did not want
It to be true
Tried to save it
The picture
I had spent
So much time on.

But now
I looked at it again
And saw that
There was nothing
Left anymore
On its white surface.

I could have cried
But I smiled
Knowing
That I would never
Forget the painting
Anyway

But that now
It was time
To restart
Painting
Again.

Beautiful metaphor! Very skillfully worded and developed. Nicely done.
